In regards to this case we need to differentiate the Calvary Church (CC) from the Calvary Church Counseling Staff (CCCS).
While this site details egregious actions perpetrated by Ms. Kathy Yoder who works with Todd Nathan and George May* these actions are diametrically opposed to the body of the Church, the mission and Ministry of Calvary and the behavior exhibited by members as a whole.
I have personally attended Calvary with regular sporadic infrequency since 1997. The welcome I received as a stranger and very different outsider has touched my heart. I have been deeply impressed with the member’s commitment to living their lives according to Biblical guidelines (as they understand them) and their willingness to place their lives on the line for what they believe.
My son Quinta and I owe a debt to the few members of Calvary Church who have been challenging their own Church and receiving some criticism for their efforts. Without their contribution this case would likely be lost and the damages would be much more widespread and faster growing.
I/we have no
desire to cause further dissension, internecine or breaking within the
Church body.
I am confident that he Church will, eventually, correct the errors of
a few and do what is right to help the children and especially Wendy.
This process may help build a stronger body in the end.
• Unfortunately the Counseling Staff have misused the power, authority and respect afforded their position and involved an unknown number of Calvary Church members and attendees in actions that deny the fathers' rights with their children, these others are unidentifiable to the fathers due to the various support structures and organizational boundaries within the church.
