Above please find
a link allowing you to download the City of Lancaster Police Video
showing what happened when Ms. Wendy Flanders, most recently, entrapped
Mr. Ben Vonderheide.
• With the
intervention of Desk Sergeant Lopez, the child was turned over to
Mr. Vonderheide.
• Not knowing
she was under video surveillance in the Lancaster Police Station Ms.
Flanders returned to the desk Sergeant shortly thereafter and requested
he file an Indirect Criminal Contempt (ICC) charge against Mr. Vonderheide.
The Sergeant refused.
• Ms. Flanders
returned to the Police Station an hour later. Another officer was
on duty.
• Ms. Flanders
stated for the arrest report that Mr. Vonderheide pushed his chest
against hers, grabbed her by the wrist and yelled at her.
• Ms. Flanders
convinced the telephone operator at the desk to go on record (LCP
Affidavit of Probable Cause) stating that it appeared as if Mr. Vonderheide
might have pushed Ms. Flanders in the chest with both hands.
• Over the
next six hours Ms. Flanders got two District Justice’s
involved, coordinated the Police from Lancaster City, Southern Regional
and East Lampeter Twp.
• The
police descended upon Mr. Vonderheide and his son Quinta in their
Conestoga home at 10:30 PM, Tuesday Nov. 30, 2004. It was a school
night; the police woke up six-year-old Quinta. They then forcibly
took the child away from Mr. Vonderheide and arrested him in front
of his son. Then they took the child a few hundred feet up the road
where Ms. Flanders was waiting.
• The police
then transported Mr. Vonderheide to the Lancaster City Police Station
where he spent the night in a jail cell.
• The next
morning Mr. Vonderheide was arraigned and released on $7000 ROR bail.
• After
viewing the enclosed tape the Lancaster County District Attorneys
Office nul prose (dropped) the charges. ADA (Assistant District Attorney)
Susan Ellison told the Court it was obvious that Ms Flanders tried
to initiate a confrontation and Mr. Vonderheide had not touched her.
Ms. Ellison further stated that her office was considering bringing
charges against Ms. Flanders for filing false statements.
• A list
of and information on the numerous other false charges and accusations
levied by Ms. Flanders against Mr. Vonderheide over the past three
years is available (Please
